This is why I dislike politics.
The McCain campaign has made a decision to try and deflect attention away from the failing economy by attacking Obama’s character.
Yesterday, Governor Palin tried to link Obama to a former radical terrorist, William Ayers. Apparently, in the early 1970’s, Ayers was part of a group that was involved in several bombings including the Pentagon and the Capitol.
Ayers and Obama now live in the same neighborhood in Chicago and have met a few times. What Palin neglected to say is that Obama denounced Ayers actions and that the two men have never been close. All charges were dropped against Ayers in 1974 and the man is now a professor of education at the University of Illinois.
My question to McCain and Palin is, “Is that all you got?”
We are in the midst of a serious crisis. People are losing their homes and their jobs. The economy is failing and we just had to resort to bailing out the financial institutions.
Personally, I don’t care if Obama had a discussion with Ayers. Granted, his acts were despicable. But, obviously, that hasn’t prevented him from finding employment in one of our institutions for higher learning.
Maybe Palin should be questioning how that happened.
I would like to hear what McCain and Palin have planned for getting us out of this mess. I would like to hear a clear concise explanation of what they plan to do if they get into office.
The mud slinging, and the “shout-outs” to all the hockey moms and Joe six-packs are completely irrelevant.
What are your plans?
That is what we are waiting to hear.
The Wizard has spoken.
