Sad story

Jose Luis Garza, a nearly 1,000 pound man died yesterday in Mexico of heart failure. He recently followed in the footsteps of fellow Mexican, Manuel Uribe, in making his struggles with weight public.

And while I would never judge another man, I simply don’t understand how anyone can allow themselves to get that obese.

Uribe, who made his struggles public a while back, once tipped the scales at 1,230 pounds. He has since lost 550 pounds but obviously still has plenty of weight to lose.

Police had to knock down Garza’s bedroom wall and load him onto a friend’s pickup truck to transport him to the hospital.

He was pronounced dead on arrival.

Although it can be certainly argued that he brought in on himself it is still a sad thing.

I wish to send his family and friends my sincerest condolences.

He was only 47 years old.

The Wizard has spoken.
